Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bromyard and Hereford helped to rescue a 30-year-old horse this morning.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said:
“At 09.51 this morning our control room received a call from the owner of Bonnie who is a 30 year old horse, Bonnie had fallen down against a fence and was unable to get up due to her position.
“A Crew from Hereford station and a large animal rescue team from Bromyard were despatched to Marden the owner had already requested a Vet to attend.
“Crews found Bonnie very exhausted after trying to get herself up which just wasn’t going to be possible without the crews help.
Fencing posts and wood fencing were removed to enable the crews to use animal rescue strops to roll Bonnie over. After a short time she was able to get to her feet and stand up.
“She was a little shaky to start with but after a short walk around her paddock she was looking fine. The vet carried out a full check to make sure she hadn’t injured herself. Bonnie is expected to make a full recovery, just some TLC and cleaning required now.”
