Bromyard Fire Station crews and a fire crew from Malvern Fire Station were called to help rescue a horse that had got into difficult during the storms last night.
A spokesperson for Bromyard Fire Station said:
“This afternoon the Large Animal Rescue Team from Bromyard and crew from Malvern Fire Station were called to rescue Ruby. Ruby was brought in to her stable last night before the heavy rain but this morning Ruby was unable to get up.
“Her owners called Belmont Farm & Equine Vets and Mike Bellame from Belmont Vets attended and it became clear that to assist Ruby to stand she would need to be moved outside of her stable and a request was made to Fire Control for assistance.
“On arrival the crews worked with Mike & the owner in agreeing a course of action. A local farmer supplied us a driver and tele handler so that Ruby could be lifted to her feet after a short time of support she was able to stand unaided. The lifting straps were removed and she was able to walk back out into her field.
“Great team work from everyone that was involved.”
