Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews have helped to rescue a dog from near the River Wye in Hereford.

Crews helped to rescue Winnie, who had been reported missing in Hereford, on Tuesday evening.

A number of posts had been shared on social media following Winnie’s disappearance, with several sightings reported.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Hereford Fire Station including the water first responders, plus the station’s boat crew were called at 21:31 on 10 June to the rescue of a small animal at Thorn Business Park, Rotherwas.

“A dog was rescued from the riverbank by the swiftwater team using a sled and reunited with its owner.

“The incident was marked as pending closure at 23:49.”
