Fire crews from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service have been tackling a wildfire in Herefordshire overnight.
A spokesperson for Whitchurch Fire Station (Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service) said:
“Tonight crews from Whitchurch fire station, assisted by Ross on Wye Fire Station extinguished a fire on Coppet Hill. Using beaters, water carried in portable aqua packs and a hosereel, crews were able to quickly get the fire under control and put it out before it spread.”
It comes after a number of wildfires were recorded in parts of South Wales and other areas of the United Kingdom in recent weeks. Some fires have been started deliberately, but no indication has been given yet as to whether the fire last night in Herefordshire was started deliberately.
