Fire crews are continuing to respond to a blaze on the Sugar Loaf near Abergavenny this morning.
On a post on a local chat group call ‘Abergavenny Voice’ – many local residents have reported seeing smoke and flames rising from the mountain.
Alexandra said:
“A shame to be up at Keepers Pond this evening and find discarded BBQ trays, while a wild fire rages on the hills in the distance.
“If you’re out enjoy the weather and our surroundings then practice leaving no trace!”
Your Herefordshire understands that fire crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance, after receiving a call on Monday evening.
There have been a number of grass fires over recent weeks and with the dry weather set to continue over the next week or so, there will no doubt be concerns that incidents such as these are set to continue.

Early evening sunshine and then a dry night with clear skies. Perhaps the odd patch of low cloud developing by dawn. Turning chilly with a local frost in the countryside. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Any low cloud rapidly clearing to leave another sunny day with blue skies. Easterly winds freshening and becoming rather blustery in places by the afternoon. Feeling warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 18 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Staying dry with plenty of warm sunshine by day, but nights will be chilly with some frost in rural spots. Often brisk easterly winds, especially over hills and on coasts.
