Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews have been called to assist with a large fire at an historic building.

In a post on Facebook, Hereford Fire Station said:

“Reds, Whites and the On-Call mobilised to a large building fire in Droitwich.

“Supporting crews from across the Service.

“The fire involved a derelict building formerly used as a hotel. On arrival all floors and the roof space were well alight.

“Firefighters used multiple main jets and 2 x Aerial Ladder Platform’s (ALP) to extinguish the fire and prevent further fire spread to nearby buildings.

“The incident is still ongoing as relief crews continue to dampen down and extinguish hot spots.”
