Fire crews from across Wales continue to tackle grass fires, with a number reported over the past seven days.

Aberystwyth Fire Station shared footage of one grass fire that they were called to attend.

“Aberystwyth and surrounding crews have been fighting wildfires for the last few days.

“It’s had a massive impact on our resources. Here are some of the footage captured.”

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue have both responded to a number of incidents, with members of the public urged to only call 999 if there is an immediate risk to life / property.

An update shared by Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue Service on Thursday said:

“Our Control Room Operators are currently dealing with an extremely high number of calls relating to grass fires.

“Please only call 999 if your life or property is in immediate danger.”
