Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews have been called to another wildfire as temperatures hit the mid 30s across the two counties.

A spokesperson for Tenbury Fire Station said:

“Last night at around 6.30pm, we were mobilised to standby at Wyre Forest. While en route we were mobilised from the Bewdley Bypass to a wildfire on Hartlebury Common near Cooks Garden Centre.

“We were first on scene, closely followed by the on call crew from Wyre Forest and immediately deployed two hose reels to start extinguishing two separate fires.

“The flames were very large due to the extreme dryness and temperatures.

“Our incident commander asked for 4 fire engines to attend and crews worked together to extinguish the fire.”
