Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to reports of a house fire in a village near Hereford earlier today.
The incident occurred in the Breinton area and crews on arrival found the fire to be contained to the chimney.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said:
“461 and 462 mobilised to reports of a house fire in Breinton, Hereford.
“On arrival crews confirmed the fire to be contained to the chimney and all persons were accounted for.
“Crews worked to remove the wood burning stove and used chimney rods and the rose to attack the fire.
“Due to embers located within the chimney stack we requested the attendance of 466 (ALP) from Hereford, which was crewed by our retained colleagues.
“Ewyas Harold Fire Station and Fownhope Fire Station were brought in on standby at Hereford station whilst we were committed.”
