Fire crews were called to an incident on Wednesday afternoon where a 13-year-old boy had broken his leg on a school trip.
The incident occurred in the Shropshire Hills area, with Church Stretton Fire Station crews (Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service) called to assist.
A spokesperson for Church Stretton Fire Station said:
“Just completed another medical rescue up the Cardingmill Valley this afternoon, this time where a school trip had visited the area and a young 13 year old lad had fallen on the hillside and broken his leg.
“Working alongside Cardingmill Valley and the Long Mynd NT and the West Midlands Ambulance Service who had stabilised the casualty, we then managed to carry him down the hillside to where the ambulance was waiting to transport him to Telford hospital.
“Another incident with good team working throughout on this successful rescue.
“At the end the incident the National Trust were kind enough to give us ice creams all round which was very much appreciated in the warm weather we are having, so many thanks to them.”
