Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to a chimney fire at a property in Hereford on Friday.
Crews from Hereford Fire Station were mobilised to a chimney fire at a property just off Ledbury Road. On arrival flames and embers were issuing from the chimney with velocity.
In order to extinguish the fire, crews pitched the 9m ladder and roof ladder and using Safe Working at Height equipment accessed the chimney stack and used a hose reel jet to suppress the fire.
Crews then accessed the fire place internally and used chimney rods and the chimney rose to remove further debris and cool the embers.
A final check was then made in the attic space utilising the thermal imaging camera to check for any potential fire spread.
