Emergency services are currently responding to a collision on a major route in Herefordshire this afternoon.

The collision has occurred on the Hereford to Sutton St Nicholas Road, with significant delays showing near Shelwick.

West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are reported to be at the scene.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Hereford & Leominster Fire Stations – were called at 12:00 on 21 March to an RTC involving a small vehicle in Shelwick.

“The incident involved two cars, both of which were on all four wheels.

“One male casualty in his 50s was medically trapped. Police and ambulance are also in attendance. The incident is ongoing.”

The road is currently blocked.

Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
