From Wye Valley NHS Trust:
Due to the new variant of COVID-19 which is spreading quickly across the UK, we have taken the decision to temporarily only allow expectant mothers to attend scanning appointments on their own with immediate effect.
This means that partners cannot attend scanning appointments or relatives/friends.
We are sorry for any distress this may cause and we understand this is a difficult time due to the pandemic. This decision has not been taken lightly and is only a temporary measure for the ongoing safety of women and staff.
Once we have new screens in place in the scanning room we will be able to reinstate partners attending scanning appointments as soon as possible. If you have specific concerns please speak to your midwife or during weekends call our maternity triage.
