Exciting plans that were released for the Bastion Mews area of Hereford earlier this year have today (Wednesday 17th November) been approved by Herefordshire Council’s Planning and Regulatory Committee.

Your Herefordshire exclusively revealed the exciting plans to bring the Bastion Mews back to being the life and the soul of Hereford city earlier this year and the response was excellent.

James Manning told Your Herefordshire in April: “Following on from our renovation of the Shack Revolution, Bastion Mews is up next and our vision is to create a thriving independent quarter where you can live, work and play.

“Based around a community of small independent and start up businesses, a place to get social, with live events and some top hospitality, topped with a collective of unique city centre living spaces.

“We are passionate about one thing and that is bringing Bastion Mews back to life once again.”

The approved plans include the proposed redevelopment of land and buildings at Bastion Mews to create a mixed-use independent quarter comprising of new commercial floorspace and visitor accommodation, associated demolition, use of external areas as events space and associated works of alteration to No.18 Union Street to enable a second means of access/egress.

We’ve attached some visuals of the proposed music shop scheme and bike shop scheme.
