A number of buildings are being evacuated in Hereford city centre this afternoon.
Businesses and properties in the St Owen Street area of the city are currently being evacuated after a brick wall fell onto a gas cylinder.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Hereford Fire Station was called at 13:03 on 6 April to St Owen Street in Hereford where a brick wall had fallen on to a gas cylinder causing a leak.
“The area has been cordoned off and buildings evacuated – the police are assisting with the evacuation of the area.
“The incident is ongoing as of 13:35.”
Members of the public and motorists are advised to avoid the area for the time being.
