Emergency services have provided an update on an incident that occurred near the River Wye earlier this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Quay Close at around 1.25pm.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station and boat crews from Hereford and Ross were called at 13:24 on 9 January to Quay Close in Hereford where a man was threatening to jump into the river. 

“Police and ambulance also attended and the man has now been handed over to the care of the police. 

“The incident was marked as stop at 14:49 and crews are now leaving the scene.”
