Emergency services were called to the River Wye in Hereford overnight, following reports that a person was in the river.

West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service all attended the incident. 

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:

“Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford and Ross, a boat crew from Hereford, the water first responder team from Ross, the Service drone from Ledbury and a boat from Mid Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s Hay-on-Wye fire station were called to a rescue from water at the Victoria Bridge in Hereford at 2.39am on 29 November. 

“A female in her 30s was rescued from the water by fire service personnel using a sled and throw lines. The casualty was attended to by fire service and ambulance personnel (log 596). Police (log 27i) also attended. 

“The incident was marked as pending closure at 03:55.”
