Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) is delighted to team up with Tech Trucks in Herefordshire on Sunday (29 January) for an important training exercise.
HWFRS will carry out a realistic training scenario at the automotive company in Eardisley involving multiple vehicles and casualties.
Up to seven fire appliances and a drone will be used, deploying from fire stations across Herefordshire, including Hereford, Ledbury, Peterchurch, Leintwardine, Eardisley and Leominster, as well as from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service will also be among the responders.
HWFRS community volunteers will act as members of the public affected by the incident, providing the firefighters with realistic opportunities to rescue people and provide emergency first aid in a pressurised situation.
South Herefordshire District Station Commander Michelle Hicks said: “This will be an invaluable opportunity to test out and improve our fire and rescue procedures.
“Careful planning means that our emergency fire and rescue response capabilities will remain at normal levels throughout the day for the safety of the area and elsewhere in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.”
The exercise is planned to take place from 10.30am until 1pm.
