From Gloucestershire Constabulary:
We were called shortly before 4am today (Monday) with a report a firearm had been discharged at an address in Matson, Gloucester.
During the incident, where a weapon was discharged at a front door, a dog inside the address sustained an injury and it was taken to a vet for treatment. There have been no other reported injuries.
Armed officers attended and there was a large police presence in the area while enquiries took place.
Officers are in the early stages of an investigation and extra patrols will be taking place in the area. At this time no arrests have been made.
We are keen to hear from anyone who lives in the area and may have CCTV or doorbell footage from between 2.30am and 4.30am.
