The following statement on the current COVID-19 situation in Herefordshire has been provided to Your Herefordshire by Wye Valley NHS Trust.
We continue to care for inpatients with confirmed COVID-19. All patients being admitted through the hospital and frontline staff are tested for coronavirus.
We are working closely with partner organisations to increase capacity across the system and maintain our services throughout the pandemic.
As Christmas approaches, residents can help by continuing to follow the government’s advice and guidance, including washing your hands regularly, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible and try to keep your distance from those not in your household, and self-isolate if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
Many GP practices and pharmacies will have limited opening hours between Christmas and New Year, so patients are urged to order repeat prescriptions early, make sure they have enough medicine during the festive period, and get the flu jab through their GP or pharmacy.
If you need advice for a minor ailment contact your pharmacist, or NHS 111 for phone or online 111.nhs.uk if they need medical advice fast.
