Latest data released by Public Health England indicates that COVID-19 infection rates continue to be on the rise in the Leominster area, with the whole town now recording ‘very high’ COVID-19 infection rates.

Data for the seven day period ending 10th November shows that the Leominster North area has recorded a total of 60 new cases of COVID-19. This is an increase of 76.5% on the previous seven day period and gives a COVID-19 infection rate of 990.8 cases per 100,000 population.

The picture in the Leominster South area is a very similar one, with data for the seven day period ending 10th November showing the area had recorded a total of 51 new cases of COVID-19. This is an increase of 96.2% on the previous seven day period and gives a COVID-19 infection rate of 804.9 cases per 100,000 population.

However, over recent weeks, cases across the majority of Herefordshire have been falling, with the county recorded a total of 791 new cases of COVID-19 in the seven day period ending 10th November. This is down by 5.7% on the previous seven day period, giving a COVID-19 infection rate of 408.5 cases per 100,000 population.
