Herefordshire’s COVID-19 infection rate continues to rise, but the numbers being hospitalised with COVID-19 in the county continues to remain low, indicating that the vaccine rollout is having a major impact on the severity of the virus.

Latest figures from Public Health England indicate a 49.6% increase in cases in Herefordshire in the seven day period ending 6th July. 190 cases were recording in Herefordshire during this period, up on the 127 cases that were recorded in the previous week.

However, the good news is that hospitalisations remain low, with data up until 6th July indicating that one person was being treated in hospital for COVID-19, the same number as the previous week.

Latest vaccination data indicates that as of 10th July, 83.6% of adults in Herefordshire had received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 65.4% of adults are now fully vaccinated.
