A councillor from Herefordshire has taken to social media to warn the public about a council tax scam. Cllr Kevin Tillett – Liberal Democrat Councillor for Hinton & Hunderton raised the alarm earlier this afternoon.
SCAM ALERT! Beware. I have just had a (number withheld) phone call from "Michael" allegedly from @HfdsCouncil who claimed that I've been overcharged Council Tax. He had my name, address and postcode but when I asked for his surname he rang off!! @herefordtimes@YourHereford1
