Accessible toilets
The National Key Scheme offers disabled people independent access to locked public toilets around the country. Toilets fitted with National Key Scheme locks can be found in shopping centres, pubs, cafés, department stores, bus and train stations and many other locations in most parts of the country. The National Key Scheme offers disabled people independent access to around 9,000 locked public toilets around the country. You can purchase a Radar Key from the Disability Rights UK website (£4.75 including postage). Disability Rights UK also sell booklets listing all the locations where you can use a key.
There are toilets with enough space for disabled people and their carers, and the right equipment, including a height adjustable changing bench and a hoist in some locations across the county. You can find the location for these toilets on the Changing Places website.
