Herefordshire Council has awarded contracts to a local roofing company to complete projects at two schools in Herefordshire.

Central Roofing and Building Services Ltd were the successful bidder
following a successful tender via the Council’s procurement portal.

The projects will take place at Weobley High School (Contract cost £472,811) and St Mary’s Primary School in Credenhill (Contract cost £522,147).

The work will take place to deliver beneficial improvements in the condition of the Council’s Educational building stock, improving the educational experience for
pupils within the buildings. 

It is also being carried out to reduce ongoing building maintenance costs by addressing known defects with high maintenance cost potential and preventing further deterioration.

Weobley High School Decision: 

“Award a contract to Central Roofing & Building Services Ltd for the roofing works at Weobley High School, Weobley, Herefordshire, following a successful tender on the Council’s procurement portal.

“Approve the expenditure of up to £415,545.17 for the roofing works, which includes a contingency of £56k.

“Approve the expenditure of up to £57,265 for internal and external professional fees.

“Responsibility for monitoring the programme to be carried out by the Capital Senior Project Manager within the spend budget.”

St Mary’s Credenhill Decision:

“Award a contract to Central Roofing & Building Services Ltd for the ceiling and roofing works at St Mary’s Primary School, Credenhill, Hereford. Following a successful tender on the Council’s procurement portal.

“Approve the expenditure of up to £464,103 for the ceiling and roofing works, which includes a contingency of £42,192.

“Approve the expenditure of up to £58,044 for professional fees.

“Responsibility for monitoring the programme to be carried out by the Capital Senior Project Manager within the spend budget.”
