Your Herefordshire understands that an updated planning application is set to be submitted for the development of a convenience store and six flats at the Royal National College for the Blind site in Hereford.
Your Herefordshire understands that the convenience store is likely to be a Tesco Express store, however this is yet to be confirmed by the Royal National College for the Blind.
The planning application that was originally submitted detailed the proposed mixed use development comprising a new convenience store (retail) on ground floor and 6 No. 2-bedroom flats at first floor with associated access, car park and landscaping.
The retail store would serve the local community with an emphasis on the majority of customers travelling to the store by foot or by cycling. Parking will also be available, with 18 parking spaces for the convenience store and flats.
The planned opening hours for the store on the original application were from 6am-11pm daily.
The original application included the building at 56 Venns Lane. The house was built in the 1960’s and there is therefore no historic element that means the development couldn’t go ahead as detailed in the planning application.
