Could the former Sports Direct unit at Maylord Shopping Centre be set to become offices for a government department?
There has been a rumour going around in Hereford for a number of weeks that the former Sports Direct unit at Maylord Shopping Centre could become offices/a training centre for the Department for Work and Pensions.
It would be a change from retail and disappointing news for those that had hoped a company such as Matalan could take on the large unit, but could it be a positive jobs investment for the city of Hereford?
The unit was recently the home of Cult Vintage, who have since moved out to a permanent home across from this unit.
The company doing the work, Paramount Optimising Space are described as “Award winning office designers” and therefore this would certainly tally up with the rumour that the unit is set to become office space for a company/organisation.
