From Wednesday 17 February, Colwall Library will reopen for Click and Collect services.

The library will be open 10am-1pm on Wednesdays and 10am-1pm on Saturdays.

Customers will not be able to enter the library building but items can be collected and returned to the designated drop-off point during the advertised hours. Other sites and services are currently in development and will follow as soon as they can be delivered safely.

Herefordshire Council is continuing with phased plans to reopen library services gradually in line with national guidance.

Due to current Covid restrictions all libraries are temporarily closed for browsing and computer use, but Hereford, Belmont, Leominster, Ross, Ledbury and Kington Libraries offer a Click and Collect service for the collection of pre-ordered library books and the return of library items.

You can ask for up to 20 books from the Click and Collect categories offered. Library staff will select titles and email when your order is ready for collection. If you wish to order specific titles, you can do this by reserving items on the library catalogue. If you’re not already a library member, you can join online before completing your request.

Gemma Davies, Cabinet Member for Commissioning, Procurement and Assets said:“Having piloted Click and Collect services successfully at our larger libraries we are delighted to be able to extend our Click and Collect service to more branches. I’d like to thank all our customers for their patience and support while we continue to work to restore our library services safely.

“We have received brilliant feedback from residents telling us how their local library has helped them during these difficult times. We fully recognise how important libraries are to supporting wellbeing, reducing feelings of social isolation and providing resources to help children learn at home. We are delighted that Colwall will be welcoming back customers for Click and Collect.”
