This Easter holiday is set to be busier than ever with 16,000 passengers arriving daily between Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Some will be reconnecting with family and friends, taking the opportunity to visit the South West or returning from a break away. Some of the busiest flights are arriving from Poland, Spain and Italy.

Many will also be using the Airport to visit top destinations over Easter, such as Palma, Alicante, Faro, Malaga and Tenerife as well as city breaks to Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast.

And with the new A1 and A3 flyer timetable now in full effect, it will be even easier for customers to use public transport to travel to the Airport, as well as for those arriving.

The A1 runs from the Airport to Bristol Temple Meads via Bedminster every eight minutes from 7am to 7pm, and overnight a bus will be available every 30 minutes.

During the day the A3 will mostly run every half-an-hour. And at night the service will be increased to at least hourly. The timetable is available on Bristol Airport’s website. Last year a record number of passengers and staff used the A1 and A3 Flyer with a total of 1.3 million journeys being made.

If travelling with Easter eggs, customers are advised to keep any chocolate treats in their cabin baggage and to make sure they’re easily accessible as they may need to be opened for a quick check. During this busy period passengers are advised to arrive at check-in a minimum of two hours prior to the scheduled departure time.

Bristol Airport recommends all customers prepare for travel by planning their journey and visiting the Airport website for directions and maps to all car parks including our waiting area, which is free for the first hour. A courtesy bus runs from outside the terminal every 15 minutes, between 6am and midnight and on demand overnight, dropping off and collecting.

To ensure a smooth transit through security, customers should:

Restrict liquids, gels and pastes to 100ml per item, but these will be able to remain in hand luggage along with all electronics (laptops, tablets and mobile phones) while passing through security screening.

Empty pockets and place loose items in hand luggage, with metal water bottles emptied before entering security.

Place coats, hats, sunglasses and belts in the tray provided with a hand luggage bag on top. Customers may still be asked to take off shoes.

Pushchairs and car seats that have not been checked in, along with wheelchairs and walking aids will be searched, so customers should allow more time for this.

Parents should prepare for children who are 1 metre tall and above to use the security scanner or if they are unable to hold the position required or are under 1 metre tall, then they will be hand searched. For further information please check the security section at the Airport on the website.
