A bridge in Hereford is set to remain closed until mid-December, due to concerns over structural safety after it was hit by a vehicle.

Herefordshire Council / Balfour Beatty have confirmed on their website that repair work is set to take place on Laystone Bridge until 10th December, meaning that villagers face further weeks of travel issues.

The bridge was hit by a vehicle at the start of October, causing significant damage.

A spokesperson for Balfour Beatty (Hereford Highways) said:

“C1122 From C1120 To Wellington Crossing, Marden, Laystone Bridge, is currently closed due to vehicle collison, please be advised not to access the bridge passed the fencing due to being structurally unsafe for vehicles and pedestrians.”
