Prime Minister Boris Johnson will host a COVID-19 press conference from Downing Street at around 5pm this evening.
The Prime Minister is expected to announce that the UK can move to stage two of the roadmap out of lockdown on 12th April with cases continuing to fall across most parts of the UK.
The Prime Minister will announce that beer gardens, outdoor restaurants, gyms, hairdressers and non-essential shops can reopen from next Monday (12th April).
Mr Johnson is also expected to announce details of a COVID certification scheme that will mean that crowds can enter sporting fixtures, festivals and even places like nightclubs.
To attend these events, it is expected that will have to have either had a vaccination, a negative test prior to any event or immunity due to having COVID within the previous six months.
A number of pilot events, including the FA Cup Final at Wembley, are expected to go ahead with a limited number of supporters in the stadium.
