BBC Radio 4’s flagship political discussion programme, ‘Any Questions?’ is coming to Hereford.
The event will take place at The Shell Store on Skylon Park, on Friday 09 May and will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 4.
The Shell Store is a former munitions factory that has been transformed into a modern office, coworking space and cafe and was chosen thanks to its rich history and significance to the area. It’s home to more than 40 businesses and regularly holds events, including business advice surgeries and Startup Clubs.
‘Any Questions?’ was first broadcast in 1948, and the show visits a different part of the UK every week. It features a panel of four speakers who answer questions from the audience and aims to provide local people with the opportunity to challenge politicians, policy makers, writers, and thinkers.
The Shell Store is operated by business support and coworking experts, Town Square Spaces Ltd (TownSq). Its Hub Manager, Danielle Dunn, said: “ We’re delighted to welcome Radio 4 to the Shell Store for what I’m sure will be a lively debate!
“There are already so many lively discussions that take place around the offices, lunch tables and coffee lounge here, so it’s exciting to have one of the country’s key politics shows broadcast live from our venue. There’s certainly plenty in the news to talk about!
“It’s a happy coincidence that the Herefordshire Histories Festival takes place the day after the event; Given the former WW2 munitions site’s historical significance to the area, and with the topic of national defence appearing more in the news, it’s the perfect time and place to discuss history and current events. We’d encourage anyone interested to sign up to attend.”
Doors open at 6.30 pm and close at 7.15 pm. The programme will be broadcast live from 8-9 pm. Entry is by ticket only. Those who wish to attend can sign up online by going to the events tab at www.theshellstore.co.uk
