Update – Our reporter has spoken to police at the scene with an officer telling us that the riverside path would remain closed for a number of hours.
West Mercia Police are attending an incident in Hereford this morning.
West Mercia Police are warning members of the public to stay away from the Victoria Bridge and surrounding footpaths this morning, as officers deal with an incident in the area.
West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service are believed to be in attendance at an incident near the river.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:
“Please avoid the Victoria Bridge in Hereford – including the pathway going to and from – until further notice.
“Police crews are on scene and dealing with an incident!”
This is a key route for many pedestrians and cyclists who head to and from work in the city and therefore a lengthy closure could cause issues for many.
