Asda has today announced that shoppers can pre-book their festive food delivery as early as next week, as the retailer opens its online delivery slots earlier than ever before.

From Tuesday 3rd October, Asda’s Delivery Pass members can book their grocery delivery or click and collect slot online at Asda.com or via the Asda app. All other Asda customers can reserve their slot from Tuesday 10th October, two weeks earlier than in 2022.

Over one million home delivery and click and collect slots will be available in the week leading up to Christmas meaning shoppers can stock-up on everting they need for a festive feast at home.

Asda’s Christmas range focuses on affordable indulgence with over 275 brand-new lines launching for 2023. From an Extra Special Porchetta, providing indulgent centrepieces at great value prices, to the Extra Special Brown Butter & Spiced Dark Rum Mince Pies with exceptional taste credentials. All dietary requirements have been catered for too, with 57 new vegan and 35 new Free From products launching this Christmas.

The move to open slots earlier than ever comes as insight from Asda’s Income Tracker shows that despite improvements in inflation figures, disposable income continues to fall for 60% of UK households compared to the same time last year, with the lowest earning households shaving a deficit of £72 in disposable income per week.

Simon Gregg, Senior Vice President of Ecommerce commented: “We know that customers are thinking about ways they can spread the cost of Christmas this year, so to help these shoppers get a head start with preparations we’re releasing our delivery slots earlier than ever, and with over one million slots available in Christmas week we’re confident that shoppers will be able to secure their preferred delivery slot.”

When slots open, shoppers can also take advantage of Asda’s turkey pre-order service which gives shoppers the chance to reserve their Christmas dinner showpiece, up to two months in advance. With 12 different turkeys on offer, there’s plenty of choice for feasts of all shapes and sizes.

Shoppers will need to add their chosen Turkey’s to their basket before December 14th to ensure it is delivered ahead of the big day. The minimum online spend at Asda is £40 for delivery and £25 for click and collect.

Following a successful pilot in 2022, Asda will also be offering deliveries on Christmas eve this year. Bookings for Christmas Eve however will only be available from Monday 20th December.
