From Gloucestershire Police:

Two women have been arrested in connection with the suspected theft of a puppy from Nailsworth and we’re still working to locate him.

Police were called yesterday afternoon (Saturday) with a report that a van which may have been involved was sighted in Gloucester. Officers attended a location off St Ann’s Way at around 5.30pm and arrested the women, aged 27 and 62, on suspicion of the theft of a dog. 

A van was seized as part of the arrests to allow forensic examinations to take place. The puppy, a five month old beige Brindle Lurcher, is yet to be located and investigating officers are continuing to ask anyone who has sighted him to please get in contact.

Police were originally contacted on Friday with a report of a suspected dog theft the day before. It was reported that a dog had disappeared after escaping from a premises before being sighted in the car park of Morrison’s at 3.30pm on Thursday. CCTV enquiries showed that two people in a blue transit van took the dog in before driving away. The puppy has not been seen since.
