A Police cordon is in place, following an incident in the city centre overnight.
The cordon has been in place since early this morning, on East Street in Hereford. An area of Church Street is also cordoned off by officers.
Officers are currently blocking the street between Broad Street and Offa Street.
There is also no direct access to Church Street from High Town. A number of businesses have been forced to close today due to the cordon being in place.
A resident who lives on Church Street told Your Herefordshire that Police informed them that it is currently a ‘live incident’ and that Police are waiting for more officers to arrive.
Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to use an alternative route, with motorists advised that East Street is currently closed to all vehicles. Pedestrians and cyclists are also unable to access town via Church Street.
Your Herefordshire has approached West Mercia Police for further information and we await further information from them.
