Officers are appealing for witnesses to an assault and suspected attempted dog theft which took place in Tewkesbury on Tuesday (5 October).
It was reported that a 19-year-old man had been approached by three teenage males on the old railway at the rear of Morrison’s at around 2.50pm.
They asked if they could have his dog, which he refused, resulting in one of them punching him in the face.
The dog ran off and the victim attempted to follow it but was grabbed by another one of the males, ripping his shirt.
The group could not catch the dog so ran away and the victim found it nearby.
They were all wearing face masks and caps and believed to be in their late teens or early twenties.
One was wearing a grey coloured fabric mask, distinctive red cap with a peaked front and a black T-shirt, the second was wearing a black woolly hat, dark brown mask and blue top and the third was wearing a dark blue mask with a hat.
Enquiries are ongoing and investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who has not already been spoken to or may have witnessed what happened.
