Over a Ton of fish caught in latest River Wye Fishing Match!

Anglers were met by a river in perfect winter condition for Sundays 4th round of the ABC River Wye Winter League.

Milder temperatures meant the huge shoals of fish were spread right through the match length, from the Victoria Bridge upstream to Breinton.

A total of 2577lb of fish were weighed in after 5 hours of competition. An astonishing average of 38 pounds per angler.

Winner individually on the day was 2 times Wye Champion Andrew Murphy who amassed 152lbs of Chub.

This was followed by individual weights of 142lb, 140lb and 102lb.

On the teams front it was visiting Oxford side, Cotswold Super Team who one the day, taking a slim lead into the Christmas break over local side Woodys Premier.
