Alert issued after a house in a Herefordshire village was targeted by thieves and ransacked on Friday night.

In a post on a Withington message board on Facebook, a local resident called Hannah said:

“Unfortunately I was burgled on Friday night in St Peters Field.

“They have completely ransacked my house and been through absolutely everything!

“They have taken a few personal possessions but the police think they were looking for car keys.

“There has been a rise in car thefts lately and I had two cars in the drive so please be vigilant!

“Unfortunately I did not have a ring door bell but I will be getting one for the front and back now so again it’s really worthwhile.

“I never thought it would happen to me as I live on an estate where everyone looks out for everyone and I have houses at the back that can see into my garden.

“They came in through the back window so they have no fear! If they want to get in they will!”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101.
