The A49 is likely to remain closed for several hours tonight, with investigation work taking place following a serious collision this evening.
The collision occurred on the A49 between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye, between the villages of Much Birch and Harewood End.
West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service both attended the incident.
There is a road closure in place with Police signage notifying drivers.
Sections of the A49 are already closed overnight this week for roadworks, so motorists are being advised to avoid the A49 between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye until tomorrow morning.
