An update on the collision that occurred earlier today from Gloucestershire Constabulary.
We can update that a woman has died following the below collision, which was between a black Honda estate and a grey Peugeot 208.
A woman in her 80s who was a passenger in the Honda died at the scene while the driver of the Honda, a man in his 80s, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Next of kin have been informed.
A man in his 20s who was driving the Peugeot was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and is in a serious but stable condition.
The road closures in place are likely to remain well into tomorrow morning (Monday 17 July) as a serious collision investigation is carried out at the scene.

Road closures are in place after a serious collision at the Highfield Road/A48 junction near Lydney.
Two cars were involved in the collision just before 3pm today (Sunday 16 July).
Police and the ambulance service are on scene and road closures have been put in place.
No details of injuries can be released at this time.
Motorists are asked to follow diversions or avoid the area entirely if possible.
