Balfour Beatty Living Places have confirmed that a section of the riverside path in Hereford will be closed for a few days later this month, for ground investigation works to take place.

The work will take near the Saracens Head pub from Tuesday 23rd August to Thursday 25th August and a diversion will be in place for pedestrians and cyclists.

A letter sent by Balfour Beatty Living Places to local residents said:

“We need to let you know about some works we’re due to do on the public right of way which
runs past the Saracens Head pub and alongside the river, known as Hereford Bridleway 32A.
We will be carrying out ground investigation works which will involve digging two small trial
pits.

“The works will be taking place from Tuesday 23rd August 2022 to (and including) Thursday 25th
August 2022 and a section of the walkway will be closed.

“We’ve attached a plan (Roadworks – Herefordshire Council) showing exactly where the works will be taking place and the diversion route for pedestrians and cyclists.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. At Balfour Beatty we work in
partnership with Herefordshire Council to minimise the impact of our work and try to keep all
disruption to a minimum – we appreciate your patience.

“The programme of work may change in certain circumstances, such as bad weather. This may
happen at short notice and without further notification. All changes will be highlighted on the
advance warning signs, which you’ll find onsite at the roadworks. You can also follow us on
Twitter via @HfdsStreets and Facebook via Herefordshire Highways for any updates on
roadworks.
