The body of a man that was reported missing in the South Wales area has been recovered.
In a post shared on Facebook, the daughter of Mark Carver, said:
“It’s with immense sadness that I share the news that my Dad, Mark Carver, was found earlier today on Deri mountain during a search with friends, family and incredible members of friends walking.
“I don’t know what I would have done without you all up there today, I can’t even put into words how grateful I am.
“After a heartbreaking week of hoping and searching, this wasn’t the outcome any of us wanted. But he has been found, and we can now bring him home.
“Thank you so much to everyone who shared posts, offered support, and helped us search. Your kindness has meant more than you know. I will be eternally grateful.
“A special thank you to Gwent Police and Longtown Mountain Rescue Team for their incredible efforts and for helping bring my dad down safely.
“We’re devastated. But we’re also so grateful to have felt such love and support from everyone around us.
“Dad, I don’t even know where to begin. I’m absolutely broken, I love you with my whole heart forever and always. You’re at peace now.”
