A primary school in Herefordshire will reopen on Monday 5th July, following a week long closure due to Coronavirus.

Peterchurch Primary School was closed from Monday 28th June, as a precaution after a case of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) was confirmed within the school community. Since this case was identified, the school was in contact with Public Health England and a decision was taken to close the school.

Cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Herefordshire, with the Delta variant taking hold in the county, but with the school term set to finish soon for the summer holidays, it is hoped that by the time children return to school in September that a different process will be in place when students/pupils test positive for COVID-19, with Education Secretary admitting that he would like to scrap the bubble system as soon as possible.
