A popular Hereford bar and music venue has confirmed that it will be closing in September.
Babar Cafe confirmed the news on Facebook with the following post:
“Bye Bye Babars
“Yes, Babars is closing and it is time to come & enjoy the ultimate & final few weeks of our amazing venue.
“It is with a great mixture of emotions of both joy & sadness that we must announce that we are indeed closing at the end of September.
“However, before we go, we want to showcase the very BEST of Babar Cafe, to turn the lights out on a real high!
“Over the last five years we have hosted incredible nights and brought some of the best bands and DJs (including some World Class ska & reggae acts!) to Hereford. You, our amazing patrons, friends & those who have become like family, have helped us to make Babar a place for happy vibes – the place to be for sunshine & good times!
“We have loved the nights where we have had you (and us) dancing all over the place – outdoors, indoors & even in the loos – when the bar has been packed and the atmosphere has been beyond electric!
“Over the remaining few weeks we have some great nights coming up for you. This Friday, talented Jamaican singer Onika Venus with an amazing big reggae band will be added to the incredible roster of live bands who have graced our stage these past years!
“Then on Saturday, we are partnering up with Hereford River Carnival to bring you an exciting night of great music & crazy top cabaret performers travelling in from around the UK & guaranteed to have your jaw hitting the ground!
“Coming up, we will also be hosting our final Ghetto Fabulous * iOccupy * Nu-Jam * Balaeric Babars * Weirdshire * Larkins Nest along with performances from local bands and musicians.
“For our last & parting night, Leeds reggae band, the mighty State of Satta, will be here to close us out on our final ever REGGAE PIE on the 30th Sep which we guarantee will be the party to end all parties (literally)!!
“Keep checking in on our FB and Instagram & be sure to follow & turn on post notifications to get your alerts on what’s happening!!
“Best get down to Babars before it’s gone!”
We love you all!
Many Thanks
Nick & Ally & all our beautiful staff
