A number of fire crews have been tackling a large wildfire overnight, with flames seen from miles around.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews have been tackling the wildfire since Sunday afternoon in the Cefn Pennar Mountain Ash area.
A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said:
“Fire crews are in attendance at a mountain fire above Cefn Pennar Mountain Ash.
“This fire can be seen from Cwmbach, Aberdare and HeolGerrig in Merthyr.
“Thank you for your calls.”
Local residents have been advised to keep windows and doors closed.
