Your Herefordshire understands that a new store is set to open at the Outfit unit at Old Market Hereford in the coming months.

Mountain Warehouse, currently located in High Town, is expected to open in the unit in June/July, according to an unnamed source.

The unit has been empty since Outfit departed after going out of business, and the large unit is one of the main anchor stores of the Old Market development.

The source told Your Herefordshire that Mountain Warehouse had ‘outgrown’ its High Town home and that ‘it’s great to see the business expanding’.

The company is expected to announce a number of new vacancies at the new store shortly, ahead of its opening.

M&M Direct are also taking office space in the former Debenhams unit, meaning that two large units that were empty will be filled by the end of the summer.

In some less positive news, the Paperchase store at Old Market Hereford closed earlier this month after the company closed all its stores following a takeover from Tesco. Tesco will stock the Paperchase brand in a number of its superstores but a decision was made to close all of the companies independent outlets.
