The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) is thrilled to announce the launch of its brand new website reflecting the wealth of education, training, services and expertise on offer at its Hereford campus.
The website is packed with new features, simple navigation and a great new look. It reflects what RNC has to offer and, through this new website, you can get to know the College better.
Apart from having a clean and welcoming new look, it strives to make the user experience informative and as smooth and seamless as possible. With its responsive design, you can have the same experience across all devices.
Before going live, the website was put through its paces by a test group comprising students, staff and alumni of RNC. The user journey has been examined and the website tried and tested on various platforms including mobile devices.
Ciaron Naughton, who studied at the College from 2016 to 2019, was involved in testing the website before its launch and said:
‘It was an honour to be asked to get involved with testing RNC’s new website. I found a few accessibility issues and worked together with the team to find practical solutions to correct these and make it more accessible for people with visual impairments who are using magnification and screen reading software.’
The College is extremely grateful for Ciaron’s input, along with everyone that took part.
Huge thanks must also go to the website developers, Nexus Creative in Worcester, who listened to the brief and came up with a clean, uncluttered, modern looking website, with accessibility and usability at its heart.
Please do visit the website at www.rnc.ac.uk and feel free to give your feedback. The College would be particularly keen to hear from its blind and visually impaired audience to find out how the user experience shapes up.
You can either drop an email via comms@rnc.ac.uk or fill out the feedback form via the red ‘Leave Feedback’ button currently sitting bottom right on the homepage of the website.
