A man has died following a serious collision on the A4136 in the Forest of Dean this afternoon, Thursday 9 September.
Police were called shortly before 1.20pm with a report of a collision between a fuel tanker and Land Rover 4X4 on the A4136, between the A40 Gloucester turn-off (Huntley) and the Blaisdon turning.
Emergency services attended, including an air ambulance, and a local man aged in his 50s who was driving the 4×4 was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
Road closures were put in place on Velthouse Lane, the A40 at Huntley and A4136 at Church Lane and these are due to remain for the rest of this evening.
Officers are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are asking for anyone who was travelling in the area and witnessed what happened to make contact.
Anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision is also asked to contact police.
