The assault happened on Saturday 28 March outside a supermarket in Hereford.

On Friday (24 April) Levi Doherty, 26 years old from Bath Street, Hereford, was sentenced  after he was found guilty after a trial at Kidderminster Magistrates Court. He  was sentenced to 24 weeks.

DS Frank Real, from Hereford station, said: “I am pleased we have been able to deal with this individual, in such timely manner. We do not tolerate this kind of behaviour.

ā€œI would like to remind the public that the COVID-19 regulations are there in order to prevent the spread of the disease and help protect the NHS. Thank you to those who are abiding and let this act as a warning to those who aren’t.”
